This tutorial shows you how to use the paintbrush in Bryce3D to draw your own letters and make very simple looking text. First, Open Bryce3D. Next, Create a Symmetrical Lattice. If you don't know what that is, it's the object that looks sort of like a spinning top.
Highlight the object, if it's not already highlighted, there should be some buttons that appear next to the object, if you don't see those buttons, look at my picture (above) and it should show them. Click on the one that says "E". It will take you to a place where you can edit the object. Find where it says Elevation at the top. Directly under that, there is a button that says New, click that and the current mountain you see on screen should disappear.
Now, run your mouse over the black area to the right. You should see a paintbrush style icon just like a regular Photoshop. To the immediate left you should see some tools like "Size, Hard, Flow, etc." If your wanting to change the size don't click on the Size option. Follow down that row of options until you see one that says Grid. Click on the black squares and it will show you a list of brush sizes. I recommend using 256 size brush. Go ahead and draw some, it will preview your image below. When your ready to make your letters, hold down the shift key while drawing, this will make your line perfectly straight. If you mess up, all you have to do is hit New again. When you get a letter you like, Click the "Check" Icon in the Bottom/Right, and there you go, you have a letter, do the same for each one.. You can draw other stuff besides text and also, if you change the tone to something a little more dark it will lower the extrusion.
